This past weekend in Tallinn at Paavli Kultuurivabrik, we crowned a new SLAM! Wrestling champion in Rakvere’s Mikk Vainula who defeated Toronto’s “Back Breaker” Dylan Broda for the honor at SLAM! Wrestling Fiesta: George Hackenschmidt Cup at Paavli Kultuurivabrik in Tallinn on May 2.
With the fantastic viral media exposure that this event has gotten in both Postimees, Elu24 and Kanal2 “Reporter”, we thought to invite the Estonian media to Mikk Vainula’s first championship title defense, scheduled for May 30 in Stockholm, Sweden in conjunction with Comic Con Nordics the same day, as we present Stockholm SLAM! III wrestling show at Telefonbriken in Stockholm.
Mikk Vainula will be defending the SLAM! Championship against the challenge of longtime Stockholm veteran wrestler Marcus of Man at our event on May 30. Tickets on sale NOW: https://nortic.se/ticket/event/81743
In addition, this past weekend Estonian-born Artur Arder won the George Hackenschmidt Cup at Paavli Kultuurivabrik, defeating Ireland’s respected Scotty Molloy in the tournament finals. Artur is a native of Tallinn and has previously wrestled nearly four years in the amateur ranks across the Baltics before turning pro in 2022 when he joined our SLAM! Wrestling Boot Camp at the age of 17.
Congratulations to our amazing talents who made good this past weekend and made history!
SLAM! Wrestling assembles the most spectacular pro wrestling event of the spring, bringing together top names from nine countries, two championship bouts, and a full evening of entertainment for the whole family. Ticket prices increase in two stages – March 9 and March 16 – so buy them early!
Championship Matches: Men’s champion Dylan “Back Breaker” Broda defends his title against two challengers simultaneously: Poland’s Dawid Oliwa is seeking revenge for a long-running social media feud, while Estonia’s Big Mikk Vainula believes Broda robbed him of the championship back in Tallinn last December. On the women’s side, England’s “Posh Princess” Kiara puts her title on the line against Poland’s Diana Strong – a young powerlifting record holder with her sights set straight on the top.
The George Hackenschmidt Invitational Cup pays tribute to the sport’s first world champion, Estonian George Hackenschmidt. The opening round matches are settled in Vantaa: Artur Arder takes on seasoned Norwegian veteran Espen Olsen, while Helsinki’s Eemi Helén measures his strength against Uganda’s Master Toad. The semifinals and final will be held in Tallinn on May 2.
Other bouts of the evening: Broda’s personal enforcer The Bodyguard faces the familiar Will Carnage, and the evening’s tag team match brings Stark Adder and Toni “Loisto” into the ring against Argentina’s Herco Wisky and debuting Israeli “The Performer” Oscar Vice.
